Southern California is a melting pot. I've lived here my whole life and have tried numerous amounts of different types of foods. Some are good, some are weird, and some are bad but they are all worth trying. Heres a list of great food and food places in southern California.

1. In-n-Out

Basic yes, but also delicious. In-n-Out might be the best burger I've ever had and it's cheap.

2. Korean BBQ

The all you can eat KBBQ is so worth the time it takes to cook. Some of the restaurants can be a little bit sketchy but Bulgogi is a must try.

3. Dim Sum

The best dim sum restaurants are the ones where they walk around with carts of food and you decide what you want as they surround you with food. It may add up in the end depending on where you go but dim sum leaves you full and happy.

4. Banzai Bowls

Most people know banzai bowls as acai bowl but I think that is too hard to say. Banzai bowl is a cute eatery located in huntington beach with some of the best acai bowls.

5. The Taco Guy

The man that comes to your graduation parties, your pool parties, and any celebration that serves fresh made tacos on a cart is a hero. His tacos are always authentic and delicious. It doesn't matter which taco guy you hire, I have never had a bad taco from them.

6. Boba

For everyone that calls it something else you are wrong, it is boba. You can find some of the best boba in southern California.

7. Sushi

I've had some of the best sushi in the world and thats because it is always fresh and always a higher grade of fish.

8. Ceviche

My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The assorted fish and various veggies combine for a fantastic flavoring.

9. Carne Asada Fries

Whether it's from a guy selling food from a cart on the street or chronic tacos carne asada fries can't be bad. I mean its steak and fries with a whole lot of good stuff on top.

10. Avocados

You don't even need to eat them with anything else but they are the best in southern California.

11. Afters

You always have to end with dessert so Afters is a great place to choose. The yummy warm donut with ice cream in the middle is well worth the wait of the line out the door.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
