Finals week is stressful no matter what level of schooling you are in -- high school, undergraduate college, or graduate school, it doesn't matter. As I near my second batch of college finals, I begin to notice some interesting trends taking place in college fashion. As the dreaded finals week gets closer and closer, my amount of effort being put into my daily outfit is significant, exponentially decreasing, and I know the same thing is happening all around the country as finals week approaches.
Accessories
Monster
The only important accessory during finals week is caffeine. It is the blood of all college students, whether it come through coffee, tea, Monster, or 5 Hour Energy. Students don't even need books or writing utensils, only caffeine.
Main Articles
Anything that doesn't take a lot of effort is ideal for college students during finals. Jeans? Not gonna happen.
Sweats and sweatshirt
Leggings with an oversized shirt
Yesterday's clothes
If you only wore it for an hour or two, does it really count?
Last night's pajamas
This one is perhaps my favorite. Why get dressed when it is totally acceptable to wear your pajamas to class? I didn't even wait for finals for this to happen ...
The Best Outfit Ever
Shoes
Slippers or flip-flops (bonus points if it's both)
Who wants to tie their shoes when there are waking up at 7:55 a.m. for an 8 a.m. final?
Uggs

Hair
Beanie
This trend isn't something that is really new, but I have noticed it among more as finals roll around. No one, male or female, wants to fool with their hair, so throw on a beanie and roll out. (Side note: I'm noticing more and more beards as we grow closer to finals week. Coincidence?)
Ponytail and headband
No time, no problem. Throw your hair up in a ponytail, throw on a headband, and you are golden.
Messy bun
This is essentially the same as the ponytail. Men, go ahead and rock that man bun too.
Makeup
Leftover from yesterday
If we even bother to do our makeup, there is probably a chance that we will forget to take it off, and we will stretch that makeup to day two. It may or may not be presentable.
Dark under-eye circles
No explanation needed.
Faces and Emotions

After the exam...
Good luck with finals, everyone. May the curve be ever in your favor.
