Winter is coming! No, no I don't mean the white-walker variety, I mean the real-life one. The temperature continues to drop and we can only walk outside in sweatshirts and sweatpants. With the change in weather comes the most wonderful time of year! Christmas is right around the corner, and there is no bigger fan of Christmas than me. I was that one person who started listening to Christmas music on November 1st. With Christmas right around the corner, I thought that it would be a great idea to crank out my list of the top Christmas songs ever made. While my list won't match up with yours, it's the most wonderful time of year, so don't pout or else you'll get coal in your stocking.

13. Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer - Gene Autry

What kind of list would this be without Rudolph? People have been and will continue to sing along to this song for years to come.

12. Winter Wonderland – Louis Armstrong

This song is a classic and the way Louis Armstrong sang it really made the song great. A mix of Christmas and jazz put a perfect bow on this song

11. Sleigh Ride - Ronettes

The Ronettes version of the song was the first version to have the horse whinny at the beginning and end of the song. They also created the chorus part "ring-a-ling-a-ling ding-dong-ding"

10. Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! – Dean Martin

"Oh, the weather outside is frightful" while i don't agree that the weather is "frightful", I can agree that this a really good Christmas song. Like they always say, Let it snow!

9. The Twelve Days of Christmas – Ray Conniff

I feel like everyone knows the words to this song. Most of it is repetition so it's a really fun and easy song to like.

8. Happy Christmas (War Is Over) – John Lennon And Yoko Ono

The 1960s had just ended and the hippy era was slowly winding down. 1971 was the year John Lennon came out with this song to clash words of peace and Christmas. Maybe we should all listen to this song really quick to promote a little peace.

7. Jingle Bell Rock – Bobby Helms

Most of these songs were created decades ago, and this song is no exception. Bobby Helms Brought the world of rock 'n' roll and Christmas together to create a masterpiece.

6. It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas – Michael Bublé

Michael Buble. I feel like that should be my only explanation for why this song is so good. He has a voice like velvet that makes this song great.

5. Silent Night – Josh Groban

Whenever this song is on the radio, I turn the volume all the way up and wait for the chills to start. Josh Groban can hit that high note with perfection and it is truly chilling.

4. Feliz Navidad – Jose Feliciano

If you don't like this song, you are the Grinch. I feel like every time this song comes on I need to scream the words and dance.

3. All I Want for Christmas Is You – Mariah Carey

Almost everyone agrees that this is the best Christmas song ever, but I like the classics more. Great song, but the next two are just flat out better.

2. The Christmas Song - Nat King Cole

I wanted to put this song at number one, but I have too much respect for Bing Crosby. Nat King Cole sang this song to perfection, but White Christmas is the best.

1. White Christmas – Bing Crosby

Every year I hope for a white Christmas, and this song is icing on the cake. When the snow is falling, this should be the song that plays.

No matter what your favorite Christmas songs are, just go listen to them. The snow will start to fall, and it will soon be Christmas day. You'll be able to give gifts to loved ones, receive gifts from loved ones and create new memories. The Christmas music is just an added bonus and it brings out the best in everyone. Enjoy the music while it lasts people! Feliz Navidad!!

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
