The Best (and Worst) Moments of 2016

Well, 2016 is coming to an end. Another year of broken new year resolutions. Another year of new television shows. Another year of ridiculous trends. Another year of absolutely incredible music. Another year of struggles and heartbreak. Another year of getting back up and living. I have captured what I think are the best and worst moments of 2016 as a prelude to the new year.

1. Gilmore Girls revival

The Gilmore Girls revival was for sure one of the best moments of 2016. Many missed Stars Hollow, the wittiness of Rory and the love of Lorelei.

2. The election

Best or worst moment/event of 2016? That is really for you decide but it was too controversial and important to not put on the list.

3. Broncos winning the Super Bowl

The worst. Because who actually likes the Broncos?

4. JuJu On That Beat

It was the best for awhile because it was funny watching thousands of renditions trend on Twitter and go viral but after the tenth time and your own attempt it got really annoying...which sadly makes it one of the worst trends of 2016.

5. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Such an incredible movie and it brought Potterheads and Hogwarts fans much joy.

6. Mannequin Challenge

This was one of the best moments because it was so fun to watch people's different take on the mannequin challenge and the song Black Beatles will be on people's playlist forever.

7. Lemonade

It dropped in April and it triggered a musical frenzy. One of the best albums of 2016. Every track and the visual album caused even Beyoncé haters to show some love for the singer.

8. Leo got his Oscar

Leonardo DiCaprio getting his Oscar is one of the best moments of 2016! It finally happened and his speech did not disappoint. You go, Leo!

9. Facebook Live

One of the best moments of 2016 because it is a whole new way of interacting with your Facebook friends. A lot of the videos that I have seen are funny and enjoyable.

10. Alan Rickman's death

One of the worst moments. Everybody will remember professor Severus Snape forever. RIP.

11. Brangelina break-up

Best or worst? Once again, you decide but for some, love is forever broken and one of the most dynamic duo in Hollywood disappoints many.

12. Kardashian, West and Swift drama

Maybe one of the best just because it was pure entertainment. The feud between them all, the not-so-subtle tweets and the audio recording revealed on snapchat was just too incredible to be real.

13. Baby Dream

Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian's baby is cute but the name is just...interesting? Best or worst either way a moment we must remember of 2016.

14. The 2016 Summer Olympics

One of the best for sure! The summer Olympics are always a fun time to watch with the family, even with the Ryan Lochte drama.

15. Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After

Sadly, this was one of the worst moments of 2016, as this was probably the worst show of the 21st century.

Well, fifteen isn't quite enough. A lot happened in 2016 and I know more will happen in 2017. Bring on the new year.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
