What's the best mascara out there?

The Best And Worst Mascaras

If I had to pick one makeup item to use for the rest of my life, it would 100% be mascara. When I first stumbled upon mascara in 7th grade, it quickly became my go-to. However, over the last five years I've gone through a lot of tubes of mascara. (I mean A LOT, so brace yourself for a long article) I've had my fair share of loves and hates. Now I'm here to share them with you so you can get your lashes to look bomb AF.

1. Benefit Roller Lash ($24)

This mascara has saved my life. It is fantastic for bottom lashes and has never flaked one time out of the thousand of times I've worn it. It gives a tone of length and curl but doesn't produce the most volume.

2. Sephora Outrageous Volume ($12)

I'm not a huge fan of this mascara. It's not good but it's not bad either. I'm not a big fan of the brush, it's really long and hard to maneuver. It smells a little odd, but the biggest thing that I can't stand about this mascara is the cap. It's not a screw on cap like normal mascara, It's a pull off cap where you literally have to pull with all your might to rip it off.

3. The Balm Mad Lash ($18)

I LOVE the brush on this mascara. It curls and lengthens beautifully but only provides some volume. There is some flaking but nothing too bad.

4. Essence Lash Princess ($4.99)

This is a horrible mascara. I was really hoping it would do well considering what a great price it has but sadly, it only produced the dreaded tarantula lashes. (as well as a horrible smell)

5. Mary Kay Ultimate ($15)

THIS IS MY GO TO MASCARA. It has the perfect brush. It lengthens, volumizes AND curls. The only complaint is that it is hard to layer this mascara. Once it dries, you can't add any more mascara on or it will quickly become a clumpy mess. However, if you master how to apply it, this mascara will be your #1 as well.

6. L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black ($7.99)

Honestly the only thing this mascara is good for is lengthening. It gives some curl but only if you use an eyelash curler before hand. I mostly only use this for my lower lashes.

7. Too Faced Better Than Sex ($23)

My main opinion on this mascara is 'eh'. I really don't get the hype around this mascara. It gives you a lot of volume but not much length or curl. The brush is huge and I can't even use it on my lower lashes without getting smudges everywhere.

8. Benefit They're Real ($24)

I don't understand how people enjoy this mascara. Just NO. Also this mascara will not come off at all. You have to buy a special remover designed to specifically take off this mascara, which honestly makes this mascara worth $40 because you have to buy the remover with it if you have a chance of taking this stuff off without ripping your lashes out.

9. ItCosmetics Superhero ($24)

I love this mascara, it gives length, curl and volume. However, it does get clumpy on the ends of lashes if you apply more than 1-2 coats.

10. Tarte Lights Camera Lashes ($21)

The formula is pretty dry and it doesn't do much for my lashes. It just kinda sits there and and does nothing.

11. Lancome Hypnose Drama ($27.50)

I love the wand and the look that this mascara gives my lashes. It does flake a tad bit but nothing that bothers me too much.

12. Bareminerals Flawless Definition ($19)

Great for length and curl. This mascara gives a very natural look and the wand makes it very easy to do the lower lashes.

13. Model Co Power Lash ($20)

very natural look. Doesn't really do much to lashes at all except provide a very minimal curl.

14. Bareminerals Flawless Definition Volumizing ($19)

gives a lot of volume but not much length. Hard to get it to work on bottom lashes without leaving smudges everywhere because the brush is so big.

15. Smashbox Full Exposure ($23)

The only thing I have to say about this mascara is VOLUME.

16. Covergirl Lash Blast Volume ($8.99)

This mascara is horrible. It does absolutely nothing to my lashes. Its main claim is that it provides volume but it does not live up to it's name.

17. Ulta Plush Drama ($10)

This mascara has a very wet formula, which unfortunately results in spider lashes (not a cute look)

18. Maybelline Falsies ($6.99)

This mascara lengthens and curls my lashes beautifully. This is definitely my favorite drugstore mascara and I've repurchased it time and time again.

19. Maybelline Great Lash ($5.99)

This mascara gives a very lowkey and natural look. It's a great beginner mascara but isn't something i'd enjoy to wear nowadays.

20. Maybelline Big Eye ($7.99)

I love the lower lash side of this mascara, but i'm not the hugest fan of the upper lash side. If you think the price of this just to use one side is worth it, then I would totally recommend this.

21. Maybelline Mega Plush ($6.99)

This gives great volume and length. It also gives a curl if you use an eyelash curler before applying. I'm not the biggest fan of the brush however, it has a squishy ball that allows the brush to bend very easily.

22. Maybelline Rocket Lash ($6.99)

This mascara gives great length, but not much else.

23. NARS Audacious ($26)

This mascara either works very good or very bad. But, if you get it to work, it provides the best curl, length and volume than most.

24. Physicians Formula Organic Wear ($9.99)

DO NOT BUY THIS. It smudges HORRIBLY and you will be a raccoon by the end of the day.

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.
