Liquid lipsticks have quickly become all the rage in the makeup world. There are many different formulas and many different brands that are coming out with their own version of liquid lipsticks. So in this article I'm going to go through my experience with liquid lipsticks and which ones you should invest in and which ones you should pass on.
I'm going to base my ratings on these 4 criteria: affordability, dryness, color payoff and how long wearing it is.
1. Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip ($6)
Affordability: 10/10
Dryness: 11/10
Color Payoff: 8/10
Wear Time: 7/10
Overall Rate: 4
I love the color of these lipsticks and I LOVE how affordable they are, but they are SO drying. It gets to the point where you can see cracking in my lips because they are so dry (not cute) I've been trying to experiment ways to keep moisture on my lips while still wearing these lipsticks, but nothing has worked yet.

2. Anastasia Liquid Lipstick ($20)
Affordability: 2/10
Dryness: 4/10
Color Payoff: 9/10
Wear Time: 8/10
Overall Rate: 6
I haven't experienced much with this one. The only shade I have of this brand is fairly dark, so it is not an everyday lip look that I would wear. However, the price is pretty high, especially to a teenager, so I won't be able to try out any other shades.

3. Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick ($17)
Affordability: 3/10
Dryness: 8/10
Color Payoff: 9/10
Wear Time: 7/10
Overall Rate: 6
I was surprised how much I enjoyed this lipstick. There was so much hype around these that I just had to pick one up and try it out for myself. They're really not THAT magical but hey it's still a decent lipstick. Probably still not worth the $17 price tag on it through

4. Tarte Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint ($20)
Affordability: 2/10
Dryness: 2/10
Color Payoff: 3/10
Wear Time: 2/10
Overall Rate: 3
I don't know, I really wasn't a fan of this one. The only positive of it is that it wasn't drying. But, it was slippery and wouldn't stay in place on my lips. It was hard to build up the color and it was hard to wear for a long time without constantly fearing that it was getting all over your mouth.

5. The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Liquid Lipstick ($17)
Affordability: 3/10
Dryness: 2/10
Color Payoff: 9/10
Wear Time: 10/10
Overall Rate: 9
This is one of the only liquid lipsticks that I feel comfortable wearing to school. I know the formula won't move around, it feels comfortable on my lips and is a great color. My only complaint is that it is pretty expensive. If the price was dropped, I would have this whole line of lipsticks. The colors are great and the formula is great. Everything you need in a liquid lipstick!

6. Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip ($6)
Affordability: 10/10
Dryness: 4/10
Color Payoff: 8/10
Wear Time: 6/10
Overall Rate: 7
This colourpop liquid lipstick formula is a lot better than their ultra matte formula. For one, this formula is a lot more hydrating.

7. L.A. Colors Pout Matte Lipgloss ($1)
Affordability: 10/10
Dryness: 5/10
Color Payoff: 2/10
Wear Time: 3/10
Overall Rate: 4
You cannot find a liquid lipstick cheaper than this one. I mean it's ONE DOLLAR. For this one, it really depends on the color. As you can see in the swatches below, the light pink color swatches a lot better than the dark color, which is hard to build up to get even coverage on the lips. I'm definitely wanting to try more of these shades out and find which ones work and which don't, because the light pink shade really isn't THAT bad, especially when these things are only a dollar! (score, am I right?)

8. NYX Liquid Lipsticks
Liquid Suede ($7), Xtreme Shine Lip Cream ($6) and Lingerie ($7)
Even though I have many different liquid lipstick formulas from NYX, they all rank the same
Affordability: 10/10
Dryness: 6/10
Color Payoff: 9/10
Wear Time: 9/10
Overall Rate: 8
These liquid lipsticks are all fabulous options if you're on a budget. They aren't overly expensive and they have a HUGE variety of colors in each formula. Really the only extreme difference between these three are their finishes and their applicators.
