When asked what the best advice they have ever received is, many people may say it was given by a teacher, their parents, grandparents, or someone important in their lives. I think a little more out of the box. The best advice I have ever received was given by one of my favorite game's characters: Sans, fromUndertale.

In this game, we play as a human kid who fell into a deep hole at a myserious mountain: Mount Ebbot. We enter the world`s underground, where the monsters live. These monsters were sealed in this place by a magical enchantment from the humans most recognized wizards, and there they got stuck for the last secular years. We can understand why the monsters want to kill the main character. This is when we get welcomed by Toriel, the ex-queen of the Underground, who protects us as if we were her child. That's the first advice we receive from the game: hate and revenge don't take us anywhere. Protect the weak and you will receive love in exchange. I believe this advice would fit perfectly at the moment we're currently living in real life.

Following the game's lead, a moment later, we get to know the game's best adviser: Sans. By Toriel's request, he'll be taking care of us until the end of the game. He tells us a lesson about taking it easy and having fun, like a #CarpeDiem philosophy of life.

Then, moving forward, the next character we met is Papyrus, Sans' brother, who teaches us a lot about friendship. His mission is to capture a human so he can get promoted to the Royal Guard, but instead he becomes our best friend.

We still have a lot to go through until we can get out of the Underground to return home, and we'll meet a lot of amazing characters who will teach their lessons. Nonetheless, I have to go straight to the point and tell the most important lesson I learned. At this point, we've been through the Underground's Ruins, Snowdin, Waterfall, Hotland and now we're at the Castle: the game's final level. At this point, the game forces us to kill the King, Asgore, and proceed to the end of the neutral route. This is a necessary step if you want to proceed to the pacifist route. By killing him, we fail our mission to free the monsters.

As we finish the game, we receive a call from Sans, the one which melted my heart. He says that he understands that killing Asgore was necessary for us to go home, and although things are tough down there, they are doing fine. Toriel has come back and took back the throne, giving the monsters a new perspective of governance. Thanks to us, every human who falls down there will be treated as a friend and not as an enemy. This is when he gives us the most significant advice: "if we're not giving up down here, don't give up wherever you are." This is why I'm still writing this. Therefore, I can say depression failed its mission too.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
