The Best 6 Movies On Netflix
Netflix

Netflix has slowly but surely crept up on our modern world. For me, Netflix started out as something somewhat irrelevant to my life that only one of my friends had so we could rent (yes, rent. Netflix still has the service where you can order DVD's and they will send it to your house) "Sleepover" and watch it three days in a row on my DVD player. It took me until 2013 to buy this streaming service, and it has been a love affair ever since.

I have compiled a list of the best movies Netflix has to offer. I always find myself in the worst position of not knowing what to watch on Friday nights, and I know that I am not alone in this. So here is a list of my favorite movies on Netflix. You're welcome.

1. "The Overnight"

I stumbled upon this movie on a boring night in with two of my good friends. I have no idea what made us choose this movie, maybe because it has such familiar faces like Taylor Schilling (Piper from OITNB) or Adam Scott (Ben from Parks and Recreation), but either way, it was a great choice. I put this at #1 because it is the only movie I can recommend to anyone in full confidence.

This movie is about a couple that moves to Los Angeles with their son and is desperate to find some new friends. After meeting another couple in the park, they were invited to a "family playdate." As the night progresses, the more interesting the night gets.

"The Overnight" is a cheesy but unique comedy with hints of playful romance. This is a great movie if you're looking to laugh, and you're okay with seeing some fake penises.

2. "Adult Beginners"

Nick Kroll is an actor who never fails to make me laugh, and that's why I started watching this movie. "Adult Beginners" is a failed about an entrepreneur who goes to his sister's house, after being aloof for years, seeking a place to live and a chance to get back on his feet. He faces true responsibility when he is forced to be his nephew's nanny while he lives at his sister's house.

3. "Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father"

This is a heartwarming documentary by Kurt Kuennes as a tribute to his best friend Andrew Bagby. Kuennes made this movie for Andrew's son, Zachary, so he would have a better understanding of his father and what truly happened to him. Andrew was murdered by his girlfriend and Zachary's mother. The film shows life after Andrew's death and the custody battle between Andrew's parents and Zachary's mother, and highlights the corruption within the criminal justice system.

4. "6 Years"

If you love romance movies that surround one couple struggle to stay together, then this is a perfect movie for you. "6 Years" is a long term, committed, young adult couple that is approaching college graduation together. With this new change, they find that it is hard to not let those changes affect their relationship. Starring Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story) and Ben Rosenfield, "6 Years" is a quirky underground movie that is guaranteed to make you cry.

5. "Bo Burnham: what"

Bo Burnham is an extremely talented young comedian who creates visually stunning and hilarious content for his audience. He started out on Comedy Central as the youngest comedian to have a stand-up show at 18 years old. His performances touch on sex, gender, race, and religion in a way that makes you laugh uncontrollably but also questions what's wrong with the world.

6. "Wet Hot American Summer"

"Wet Hot American Summer" is a goofy comedy starring some of the most respectable comedians we have today. Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, and many more take on the roles of teen camp counselors at a sleep away camp. This movie is a hilarious, nostalgic, getaway that will leave you feeling you feeling warm and happy inside.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
