It's almost winter break and we're all greatly looking forward to holiday treats. Here are some of the best Christmas cookies ever.
1. Mom's chocolate marshmallow cookies
Complete with a fudge topping; who said marshmallows were only for s'mores?
2. Oreo Balls
Oreos were great to begin with, but make them into little bundles of goodness, and they become 10x better.
3. Peanut butter blossoms
Best served fresh out of the oven when the Hershey's kiss is gooey, and the cookies are warm.
4. Grandpa's favorite chocolate thumbprints
Sprinkled with powdered sugar to add a little bit of sweetness. Don't forget to bring these to Christmas dinner!
5. No-bake peanut butter oatmeal cookies
It's what inside that counts! Simple, yet heavenly!
6. Grandma's Ginger Snaps
One of my favorites, and the best treat to pair with a cup of hot chocolate or tea. It's impossible to just have one of these melt-in-your-mouth treats!
6. Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
Always a favorite, and always best served right out of the oven.
7. Frosted Sugar Cookies
Is it even Christmas if you don't have the Christmas tree cookie or the star with too many sprinkles?
8. Great-Grandma's Kolackies
Made in thumbprint form, these are a Christmas tradition in my family, with a recipe that has been passed down through several generations. A classical Christmas treat!
9. Chocolate Peanut Clusters (with Christmas Sprinkles, of course).
A little bit of butterscotch, a lot of chocolate, peanuts, and some red and green cheer is all that is needed to make these favorites.
10. And my personal favorite, Buried Cherry Cookies, aka Rudolph Cookies.
My mom, brother and I make these every year to leave out for Santa and Rudolph. The best part is when the fudge is still warm and gooey.
