Don't we all remember the good old days when we were going on our college tours with our parents. Now we are just washed up Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors or graduates. But I still remember my college tour at Union College, as if it was yesterday. It was a nice warm day in September, when the leaves were changing and everyone was still wearing shorts. Something that stuck out to me on my college tour was when the tour guides mentioned trimesters. While I didn't truly understand the benefits of going to a trimester school, Imagining only taking three classes sounded amazing. Now that I have been at Union for two years I can vouch how amazing Trimesters truly are.
Here are the five main reasons you learn to love Trimesters:
1) Only having a 10-week Term.
If you hate a class and are so done with it already by Week 3 you can say to yourself that it will be over in seven weeks. While if you went to a semester school it would be dragged out for another 12 weeks...Brutal.
2) YOU ONLY TAKE 3 CLASSES A TERM!!!
Only taking three classes allows you to focus all your attention on those classes instead of juggling between four or five classes at a semester school.
3) You can have multiple days off during the week.
If you decide to do so, you can plan out your schedule to have Tuesday, Thursdays off or even have Monday Wednesday Friday off.
4) 6 Week Winter Break.
While it sucks that here at Union that we literally never have any days of besides Steminetz Day... We get six weeks off for our winter break. This is amazing because we get to miss some of the miserable upstate winter. Along work a little to save up for our drinking allowance.
5) Ending School in June
When I tell people I end school in June they usually are shocked and often think its terrible. I, however, love ending school in June. Its amazing being at school when it starts getting warm out because you get to spend it with your college friends. And who doesn't love to drink outside on a nice warm day. Also while all your home friends are bored at home they can come visit you because you are still living it up spring term (Hopefully your grades don't drop too much Spring term).
