Starting the journey of watching Grey's Anatomy is a life altering decision. This show will take you on an emotional roller coaster. Experiencing life with the interns and doctors at Seattle Grace Hospital will forever change your world. I have only been watching this show for two seasons now, but, with the guidance Meredith Grey and what I can give you, you will be prepared for this show.
First of all, stock up on tissues and water proof mascara. My friends and I have successfully found ourselves in our "feels" because of Grey's. This show seriously messes with your emotional stability. You will find yourself caught up in all of the drama and you will feel like you're experiencing it yourself. Whether it is Doctor Shepherd (McDreamy), George O'Malley, or Izzie Stevens, all of the life experiences that you witness will either break your heart or make your day. Be prepared for love, hate, excitement, and sadness.
Secondly, when you start watching the show make sure you have a lot of time to binge watch. Once you watch the first episode, you will be completely hooked. You will quickly learn that watching just one episode at a time is not an option. Your friends might start to wonder where are you because you have been locked in your room watching Netflix for so long. Grey's Anatomy quickly becomes a big part of your life and you will have all of your friends and family watching too.
Next, you need to prepare yourself for quick changes. Anything can happen in Seattle Grace Hospital. Personally I am not a person that likes change, or surprises really but Grey's Anatomy has change and surprises that make the show so good. Plot twists are the directors' and producers' way of keeping you on your toes and wanting to watch more.
Another thing is, don't let your friends or family who have already watched this show spoil it for you! I have already had some plot twists ruined for me thanks to Twitter. If your friends start talking to you about the show, make sure they know where you're at in the show. They don't need to be ruining anything good for you. Also, I really hate spoilers. People who spoil things are no fun, so don't be that person who ruins it for another person after you watch the show.
Lastly, don't get too attached to the patients. This is commonly said throughout the show especially near the beginning but, it also applies to viewers of the show. Yes, some of the patient's stories are really sad but you cannot dwell on them. Most of their plots in the show are relatively insignificant. The main storyline is on the interns and doctors. And yes, you are allowed to get attached to them.
So, welcome to Seattle Grace Hospital. We hope to have you on board for the next few seasons.
