I'm always looking for new artists to follow and watch grow. When I find a new artist, I automatically become obsessed. Sometimes I'll only be hooked for a little while, but I'll keep the music that I fell in love with for a long time. One artist that I found via Spotify radio back in 2013 was James Bay. Since then, I've been hooked and obsessed with him (yes I know that sounds creepy, but most of us have been or still are obsessed with musicians, bands, or other celebrities) and his music.

I'm one of the lucky ones that discovered him early on in his career. But most people came across his music when he performed live with Tori Kelly at the 2016 Grammy Awards. A year after his debut album, "Chaos and the Calm" came out. That performance was my favorite of the entire night, and it definitely showcased both of their talents.

But one major reason why I am in love with James Bay's music is his ability to perform acoustically. Acoustic performances are my absolute favorite and it takes an incredible amount of talent to perform acoustically and to be able to do it well. Here are just two acoustic performances of his of my two fo my all time favorite songs, "Let it go" and "Scars."

I'm so excited to see his music evolve and to hear more of his beautiful music. Written and sung by an even more beautiful human being. I hope that you enjoy his music as much as I do, please, if you already haven't yet, listen to his full debut album Chaos and the Calm. Trust me you won't regret it.

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement. Before that day, I never really thought about being a friend to myself, and at the time, I didn't really know what it meant. Now, I realize that you can't fully be there for other people unless you're there for yourself, too. You can't show up for others until you're willing to show up for yourself.

Here are five things everyone should learn in order to be a better friend to themselves. These steps are hard, but they're so worth it.
