If you're a regular on youtube or watch a fair amount of famous youtubers, you've probably heard a lot of negative things about Bryan Stars. If you're like me and was at one point a fan of his, you'd probably think it was fake, or that Bryan was the victim, but trust me, he's not. This article's going to be pretty brief and straight forward, considering most the videos about his behavior are fifteen minutes or longer, and nobody has time for that (unless you're like me and thrive off of celebrity drama). Anyway, here goes.
Bryan Stars is a young man, 25 I think, who became well known for interviewing bands like Asking Alexandria, Black Veil Brides, and more. It was interesting seeing him interview these bands because the kid didn't really look like the type to listen to that genre at the time. I used to really look up to him when I was younger because of how different he was, and how he was as young as he was but already interviewing these huge bands that I was obsessed with (yes, I, like many others, had a scene phase. May it RIP in pepperoni forever).
The reason that he got into hot water is because Bryan Stars had a collab channel called My Digital Escape, which was essentially a "Scene Kid" revival channel, featuring other kids (17 and older) who fit the look, more or less. If you don't know what the scene trend was (or apparently is, because it's not dead yet unfortunately), look it up, you should get the gist right away. Bryan himself only really had a few videos on the channel, the rest consisted of the other kids making videos, being themselves, and for the most part (I hope) genuinely having fun. After a long run, MDE decided to stop making videos and shut down the channel, but about 6 months or so later, Bryan made a video that more or less notioned that MDE was back. Apparently, the original other MDE members didn't know about this, meaning Bryan did it behind their back, without telling them. He'd made it clear that he didn't want the original members there anymore for whatever reason. Bryan then continued to start the channel with an entirely new group of kids (who were also still in their teens, unlike Bryan, who is 25, may I remind you) and continues making videos with this new group even now.
Now the underlying issue with all of this, is that MDE is essentially Bryan's. He essentially uses the kid's image for views and money, since all of the videos are monetized (obviously), and he's even harassed other Youtubers who he thought more or less fit the "image" he wanted for his channel, like Damon Fizzy, who according to a recent video of him explaining his side, had turned down Bryan repeatedly until he sat him down with another of the MDE members and essentially bullied him right in front of the guy. Yikes.
Bryan's personality is also pretty slimy. He's the manager for a lot of other members of his weird cult channel, including singer Austin Jones, who pressured many girls into sending him "twerking" videos for him to more or less masturbate to, and Chris Oflyng, who deliberately faked a video about his girlfriend getting assaulted by a grown man in a parking lot, and then Chris himself acted as the hero who "saved" her from the man, just for views. Bryan kept a lot of these instances very hush hush because he wanted to protect his image to keep the money rolling in. Double yikes.
The long story short of this article is that this guy's an obvious snake. Everybody who's ever worked with him who's came out about their experiences had absolutely nothing good to say about him, not even Damon (DeeFizzy on Youtube), who's literally the nicest guy ever and definitely didn't deserve the abuse he put up with from Bryan for so many years.
Hopefully this article gave you some insight on the situation. This is essentially a compilation of what I've heard and / or researched myself. YouTube can still be a happy place, but not with people like this guy roaming around.
