Starting with 25 hunky men, this dating game show has it all from endless date cards and drama amongst the bachelors in the house, to heartbreak in the final anticipated moment: an engagement (and a final rose)! For those of you who love reality TV, "The Bachelorette" is one that you cannot miss! Although a televised competition of men going head to head for one girl may seem a bit peculiar, it certainly does not disappoint. This Monday, August 1st, the finale and final rose ceremony will air at 8 p.m. EST.
The final two left in this competition are Jordan Rogers, a former professional football player and the brother of NFL start, Aaron Rogers, and Robby Hayes, a former competitive swimmer. It is no surprise who the remaining contestants are as JoJo’s type is definitely a blond athlete with scuffles on his chin. Personally, I am #TeamJordan but JoJo cannot go wrong with either man. Neither of the two are employed but they certainly are cute!
From the first impression rose at the mansion to the final rose ceremony, "The Bachelorette" journey only lasts six weeks. Yes, you read that correctly. JoJo only had six weeks to fall in love with a man (or two) and try to figure out whom she will marry and spend the rest of her life with (or most likely will not). So is "The Bachelorette" a way you would want to meet your future spouse? This is a very untraditional way of meeting and it is truly a matter of opinion on the topic.
With such little time and many other suitors in the way, this show is not the ideal way to meet your next husband or wife. Contestants have very little one-on-one time with the bachelorette and often times are placed in a group setting, depleting the intimacy in the so-called “date.” According to the show rules, JoJo is able to have one overnight date with her three remaining boyfriends. How is she supposed to envision how life would be like with each man when she hasn’t spent more than 24 hours with each individual at a time? Many bachelor romances end up fizzling out a few months after the engagement. The inconvenience of having your significant other living in another state and not knowing much about them certainly makes the long-distance engagement a hard one. The end of the show honeymoon-high usually wears off once the couple returns back to reality.
It is an unlikely event that one will actually meet their soul mate on the show, but it does happen. Former bachelor, Sean Lowe, met his wife, Catherine, on season 17. The duo has been married for three years and just had their first baby. Will JoJo find her forever? Get excited #BachelorNation, the finale is on tonight!
