The Bach Is Back And So Far, It Did Not Disappoint

I’ve got my wine ready for next week, do you?

The Bachelorette is back y'all, and I’m plugged back in after a good 5-year hiatus from the dramatic fiasco that is the bachelor franchise. I used to watch the show religiously with my mom. We were dedicated fans and in my high school naivety, I thought perhaps real love could happen over the span of the show. Now? I’m much more cynical and wine can be included in the event.

I will admit, the drama that I always heard about following the final rose of the last season had me intrigued. That hook plus a group of girls who promised bracket for choosing winners and drinks during the show had me hooked.

Beware! Spoilers ahead.

The initial standouts: Colton. The man is not only incredibly attractive but runs a nonprofit organization to benefit sick children with cystic fibrosis. He seems like an all-around great guy and I think he’ll be around for a while. My next favorite is Garrett who rocked the first night and stole the first impression rose. Jean Blanc is another I expect to go far and probably has the most interesting career- colognoisseur.

The first drama: Of course, there must be drama. Apparently, someone knew someone’s ex (sounds like a recipe for disaster already) and received a mysterious text. Chris pulled Chase aside and accused him of being on the show for the wrong reasons and Chase got Becca involved. Becca was clear she isn’t playing games and Chase was sent home.

Most creative entrance: While there were many to choose from (from an ox to a minivan), Trent jumped out of a hearse because he “literally died” when he found out Becca was the bachelorette.

The one everyone will love to hate: Jordan. The male model who, I think, thought this was a Zoolander audition.

Overall, it was a great opening episode with plenty of teasers for the upcoming season and how good (read: drama packed) it will be. I’ve got my wine ready for next week, do you? Cheers everyone!

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
