A Look Behind The Curtain Of Audition Season, As Told By 'One Tree Hill'
CW

If you are a working actor, you know that the months of January-March are insanely busy for you. You bounce from audition to audition trying to find some sort of work for either the summer or the year. It gets to be a little overwhelming at times, but luckily we have a TV series to rely on that helps us feel less alone.

It all begins with applying for thousands of auditions and scheduling appointments while feeling all the confidence in the world.

You walk into each audition and see everyone else in the waiting room. You think they all have their lives together, but you slowly realize that's not the case.

You see that one person, and you instantly call your friend to freak out about it.

You walk out of your audition feeling like you nailed it.

Or like you didn't.

You might fall in love with a theatre company or show, and you hope with all of your heart they call you.

But sometimes, they don't, and you give yourself a brief pity party.

You have friends and family to support you and get you back on your feet.

Then, you realize that you are so talented and beautiful, and any company would be lucky to have you.

Suddenly, a company calls you offering you a job...

And you do your little Brooke Davis happy dance.

'

Because in the end, getting an opportunity to do what you love makes it all worth it.

It's a long, exhausting journey, but you've got this. My advice: don't forget these wise words from Mouth this audition season. Break a leg, fellow art lovers.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
