5 Reasons Why I Love 'The Adventure Zone'
the Adventure Zone

If you haven't had the joy of playing a tabletop game such as Dungeons and Dragons, than believe me you are missing out. If you are interested in the game, but too "not-a-nerd" to actually pick up the dice yourself, than I highly recommend the podcast titled "The Adventure Zone". This podcast tells the story of the McElroys, three brothers and their father, who adventure through their own fantasy world, causing a lot of hijinks and destruction in their wake. Without further ado, here are Five reasons why you should check out the Adventure Zone. (All art belongs to their original artists).

1. Tons of lovable characters

Whether a mercenary or a bugbear with an affinity for Oolong tea, the Adventure Zone creates characters who you will hate to see fall out of the story, and cheer when they come back for only a passing moment.

2. The hosts are hilarious.

When you listen to a show, you want to be entertained. why else would you listen? The McElroys manage not only to tell an amazing story, but also make the whole thing amazingly funny. Taako the character himself is a joke that lasts the entire series. If nothing else, tune in for the giggles.

3. An intricate story

Gryphon McElroy is the Game Master for the Adventure Zone, and it is he who has helped to flush out the world in an amazing way. With each adventure cruising form one seamless bit to another, he truly has shown his genius and ability in both storytelling and entertainment.

4. A secret society

Who doesn't enjoy a good secret society? When it comes to these heroes, they have their fill with the Bureau of Balance, the good-guy Illuminati of this fantasy world. With their card-key bracers (as seen above) and their orders form the Director, nothing is un-doable for these fine heroes!

5. The hosts are very much in touch with their fans.

No picture here. None could encapsulate how good the McElroys are with staying connected with their fans. Whether it is including the names of loyal audience members by means of twitter or fanart by means of their Tumblr, The Zone Cast is able to connect with their audience in a way that not a lot of entertainers can.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
