The Acts You Shouldn't Miss At Firefly Music Festival
Firefly Music Festival

Firefly Music Festival is relatively new to the festival circuit and takes place in the woodlands of Dover, Delaware from June 16th to June 19th. This four day festival is, as all festivals are, jam-packed with amazing artists on many different stages performing from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m. That is A LOT to take in, not to mention the countless vendors and food trucks that are definitely worth stopping by. Oh, there is also a silent disco hidden in the forest, a hammock hangout, and a beercade (whatever that is). Needless to say it can be very hard (you poor festival goer) to figure out what acts and activities are can't miss, and which ones you don't mind letting fall through the cracks.

Day One - Thursday

On the first day of this festival, you will probably only spend a half day enjoying the music and the other half of your day setting up you capsize (if you opted to camp) or checking into your hotel. Here are the bands I recommend you fit into your first day at the festival, and definitely leave yourself time to get the lay of the land (and the food).

1. Jai Wolf

If you like hip hop and EDM, Jai Wolf serves up a mix of the two genres and will surely be a great time.

2. Skizzy Mars

Hailing from Harlem, NY Skizzy Mars is a Hip Hop artist who's as amazing live as he is on the track.

3. Two Door Cinema Club

Two Door Cinema Club is an obvious act can't miss, they are headlining the first day of the festival and are the perfect band to kick you into festival gear.

Day Two - Friday

1. Tame Impala

Especially if you missed Tame Impala's most recent show in Brooklyn, be sure to check out their set on day two. Their unique sound will stand out and they will be sure to deliver a great show.

2. Of Monsters and Men

I've seen them live before, take my word for it, they rock.

3. Vince Staples

For your daily dose of hip hop, check out vince Staples. This Long beach, California Native will bring it and his set is sure to be fire. His album newest album Summertime 06 has an amazing genre-bending sound that will not disappoint any music lover.

Day Three - Saturday

1. Fetty Wap and A$AP Rocky

Although they are not playing together, the two hip hop powerhouses are back to back on the same stage. Be sure to catch these two for a seriously hype show and some real hip hop amongst the mostly indie-rock bands.

2. Florence and the Machine

Florence Welch's amazing pipes are a must-see in person. if you are looking to watch someone sing their heart out with an amazing band to back them up, look no further.

3. CHVRCHES

You are not going to want to miss this Scottish synth pop band, they will no doubt bring an amazing set.

Day Four - Sunday

Take it easy on your last day at the festival with these three acts.

1.The 1975

You do not want to miss this English Indie rock band. Be sure to catch them on your last day for music with a mellow stripped down style that still really rocks.

2. Wet

The EP they dropped this year was amazing. Let this Brooklyn trio's soft sounds and mellow vibes bring your wild weekend to a great end.

3. Hippie Sabatoge

For some amazing EDM to close out your weekend, be sure to check out hippie Sabotage's set.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
