The 35 Absolute Worst Things About Being An Adult

I have been an adult for just about two years now and I am going to share with you some of the worst things about being an adult that my friends and I have come up with.

1. Having to schedule your own appointments.

2. Being sick but your mom isn't there to take care of you.

3. Not being able to punch somebody for annoying you.

4. Having to wake up early.

5. Having to go to work even though you don't want to.

6. Rent.

7. Buying medicine because your body decides to reject you.

8. Hangovers (or so I've heard).

9. Not being able to sleep in anymore.

10. Considering 11pm as a late night.

11. Taking responsibility for your actions.

12. Paying the "adult prices" for admission to things.

13. Having to look like you have your life together.

14. Justifying spending money even though you are in debt.

15. Uncontrollable aches and pain.

16. Not having your parent's home cooked meals.

17. Dealing with constant existential questions.

18. Bills.

19. Making life decisions on your own.

20. Needing 40 years of experience but you're only 20 years old.

21. Having to return things at the store.

22. Not knowing how to life because high school didn't teach you anything.

23. Watching other people your age have kids and get married.

24. Having to vote for people that you don't like.

25. Not being able to do weird things because people expect you to act a certain way.

26. Not having time to do anything fun because you are either working or doing homework.

27. Being old enough that you start getting family pictures as presents.

28. Running out of clothes but not being able to do laundry because you don't have any money.

29. Wrinkles.

30. The deep dark purple bags under your eyes.

31. Not liking food, but eating it anyway because you paid for it.

32. Having to be around people. ALWAYS.

33. No one forces you to go to church, so you have to make the decision to go by yourself and when you don't go, you feel all of the guilt.

34. You have to braid your own hair before going to bed.

35. You have to put the fitted bed sheet on all by yourself.

As you can see, there are many things that kind of suck about being an adult, but there are also some really amazing things that happen when you are an adult too, but maybe that list can wait for another week!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
