The ABC's of Winthrop University

A- All Student Announcements

Who actually reads these every day? *keeps scrolling*

B- Big Stuff

Do you really even go to Winthrop if you don't have a picture on Instagram of you posted up with our mascot?

C- Common Time

AKA rush hour on campus. Avoid Thomson, Scholar's, and any major crosswalks.

D- Diversity

You're exposed to everything at Winthrop. We definitely pride ourselves on our diversity.

E- Eagle Express

When you're craving a midnight snack but everything else is closed.

F- Fire, Fire

It's always lit at Burger Studio.

G- Greek Life

Alpha, beta, chi, delta ... No matter what you rush, find a family.

H- Homecoming

Tailgating, basketball, lots of events throughout the week... What could be better?

I- ICONIC

Speaking of homecoming... We haven't forgotten about that concert.

J- Joining every club at Convocation...

K- ...Knowing you can't handle all of that.

Oops.

L- Legion

Basically Narnia.

M- Midterms

Whyyyyyyyyyyy?

N- Nametags

It's a rite of passage here. Once you get one, you get some street cred. But they're also pretty addicting.

O- Orientation Leaders

They're basically your first BFF at Winthrop.

P- Preview Days

AKA - you KNOW Thomson is gonna be on point!!

Q- Quiet Hours

Everyone's favorite part of community living.

R- Resident Assistant

They're your parents away from home. They support you at your lowest and humble you up at your highest. They're always there to listen to you and give you good advice. But sometimes they're just embarrassingly crazy.

S- Scholar's Walk

Grab your Eno and your bae during spring and snuggle under the stars... But just make sure you avoid it during Common Time. (PS - Can you find the proposal brick?)

T- Tillman

That fourth floor haunted tour, though....

U- Using an alternate route to avoid running into certain people.

Why else do you think there are four different ways to get to DiG's? ...Okay, so maybe it's not for the same reason, but we'll go with it.

V- Very loud upstairs neighbors

I may or may not have broken an umbrella by beating on the ceiling, telling the people above me to keep it down.... Not sorry about it.

W- Winthrop Worms

Speaking of umbrellas, better keep it over you in the spring cause if not, you'll find little green worms everywhere.

X- Crosswalks

WAIT.

Y- Yelling at the cars that don't stop for you to cross

Hate to break it to you, but the whole "I dare you to hit me, I'll get free tuition" thing only applies if its a campus-operated vehicle.

Z- ZZzzzzzz

Better go to sleep at a decent time tonight. Don't you have class tomorrow?

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Advice To Live By As Told By Bob's Burgers

The Belchers hold the key to a better life.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
