In This Article:

While a few of these things are different/unfeasible during this unprecedented time, the majority of this list can still be very useful to incoming freshman!

A: @villanova_memery

The greatest account. You're not a true Villanovan until you follow it.

B: Buddha Bowl

If you are a fan of kale and arugula and also do not enjoy the white iceberg lettuce or purple spring mix that is in practically every salad here, check out the Nova Buddha Bowl. Location: prepackaged areas of Cova and Belle Air.

C: Campus Activities Team

These people are literally so awesome. They always have various activities and forms of entertainment going on throughout the weekend, so definitely take advantage!

D: Davis Center

AKA the gym, AKA the place where the guys will try to out-lift each other and the girls will try to out-squat each other.

E: E-newsletter

It's tempting to want to delete Villanova's incessant, daily E-newsletters, but I would totally recommend skimming them over. There is always one or two events/opportunities that will be of interest to you.

F: Fries

The normal fries are great, but the SWEET POTATO FRIES are a whole other planet. They haven't started serving them yet (I'm looking at you, Belle Air), but when they do, you better believe that I will be first in line to get them.

G: Garden

Villanova has an amazing garden that you can volunteer at, and you get to take home everything that you pick! Check out Villanova's sustainability website for more information.

H: Hope's Cookies

This place has the BEST cookies and ice cream! Plus, the massive cow statues outside are a *quirky* photo op.

I: Idea lab

Located in the ground floor of Falvey, the idea lab is a super cool, modern study space that is usually very quiet.

J: Jay Wright

If you don't know who this is, do you even go to Villanova? Did you even watch his amazing video on a safe return to campus?

K: Kill lantern flies

Seriously do it. Plus, the camaraderie over killing these invasive pests is seriously no joke.

L: Late-night

Late-night is slowly but surely becoming a regular occurrence, and I have never been happier about something. If you didn't know, late-night is food served in the dining halls ~late~ at ~night~.

M: Macaroni and Cheese

Villanova has a couple of really solid food choices, and their Mac n Cheese is definitely one of them.

N: NOVAdance

NOVAdance is basically like Penn State's THON, but better :)

O: Olympics, Special (No one ever said I can't switch the words around!)

Special Olympics is the world's largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and physical disabilities, and Villanova goes completely above and beyond with their execution of it. It is such a rewarding and worthwhile way to get involved.

P: Paddywacks

Paddywacks is a popular spot in Philly for many of Villanova club's formals. It's a good time.

Q: Quizzo

It's every Thursday night at 9:30, and there is a new theme each week. Grab a group of friends and get ready to see how much you really know "everything".

R: RUIBAL

RUIBAL is an amazing service opportunity for freshman that is SO fun and rewarding. Check out the campus ministry website for more information.

S: Snap custom pizza

A short 20 minute walk away, in the heart of Bryn Mawr sits one of the best pizza places you will find. Recommendation: the Kennett Square.

T: Taco Tuesday

Villanova used to have this, so I am just patiently waiting for them to bring it back.

U: UNITY

UNITY is an annual multicultural showcase hosted by Villanova International Students' Organization. Different musical and dance groups perform from various colleges in the area, and it's a really awesome performance.

V: V's Up

If you haven't caught on yet, the peace-sign pose is always appropriate. Always.

W: West Campus

As a freshman, you probably spend most of your time darting back and forth from South to Main. However, if you get the chance, head over to West for a change of scenery.

X: X-mas tree lighting (I realize this is a bit of a stretch)

One of Villanova's best traditions is their annual tree lighting ceremony. There's free hot chocolate and food, a choir sings Christmas carols, Father Peter lights the tree, and Santa is there-- what more could you want?

Y: Yoga classes

Yes, that's correct, there are yoga classes offered at Nova, along with many other group fitness classes! Head to Villanova's recreation site to learn more.

Z: Zilly fries

Location: Campco. Now go get some.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We all go through certain stages when we have a crush, Tina just explains it better.

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

Creating your schedule for the upcoming semester can be an exciting process. You have the control to decide if you want to have class two-days a week or five-days a week. You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
