WVU is notorious for its party scene. But there are so many other things that make West Virginia University special -- especially when classes are done for the summer. It's so much easier to enjoy the area when you're not preoccupied with class. Ahead, here are 9 of the best things about living in Morgantown for the summer.
1. No traffic!!!
One of the worst things about Morgantown is the traffic. In the summer, all the students are home and no one is on the road! Which brings me to...
2. No snow-driving
Another thing that WVU is notorious for is how horrible the drivers are when it snows. If there isn't gridlock, there are definitely cars sliding downhill.
3. No snow in general
4. No freshmen running around the grocery stores
During the semester, this can get SO frustrating. All I need are some granola bars, but I have to fight through a crowd of freshmen to get them. Move-in week is the worst. I don't even grocery shop for the first few weeks of classes.
5. More room on public transportation
It can be nearly impossible to find a seat on the bus during the semester. Over the summer, you have your pick of seats. It's a beautiful thing.
6. No classwork
No classwork means no studying, no all-nighters, and no essays. It also means more free time.
