1. Surprise!!

WHAT IS HAPPENING??? What a shock it was for a freshman like myself! Suddenly hearing someone banging a cowbell during band rehearsal when there shouldn't be cowbell, then realizing that, actually, someone was standing by the door banging a small pot and shouting "walk out walk out!!", got my heart pumping a little faster. My face must have been "picture perfect shock."

2. No classes, you say???

Ooo-hooo-hooo! I wonder how many things I can get done today... For a extreme non-procrastinator, today has become a "get ahead in class" free card.

3. Wait... Are we supposed to be doing this? (again, for us newbies)

(Sherlock's face at the end though bro is like "seriously? Don't care, get over it.")

Dont worry! Turns out that the walk out today was totally legal and even planned by the president and coaches! I had never done anything like this, nothing of sort, so following the crowd and going with the flow was definitely a thrill, something that doesn't happen every day in my every day life.

4. FREEDOM!!

Not only do we get out of class (and have an extra chance to relieve school/homework/test stress), now we get free bowling AND free lunch?? And not just any lunch, but Chick-fi-la! Score, win-sauce!!

5. Chick-fil-a

I think that most of us will agree that Chick-fi-la is so special and amazing that they deserve their own point. The chicken sandwich boxes were on point! I had been craving chicken for the past week, they were really delicious.

6. Nap time....

Sleep. Enough said.

7. Lounge and Laze

My favorite L words (after lollipop because it's so fun to say), and my favorite Saturday activity. That is, when I have the chance. Grab some snacks and a movie or a book and settle under folds of a heavy blanket. In my opinion, Golden Grahams and fig newtons, the movie Jason Bourne: Bourne Identity or any of the Ranger's Apprentice books, and my wonderful fuzzy blanket an adult friend of mine gave me. She was my faculty prayer partner from high school.

8. Stay Inside

Maybe you got to stay inside for most of the day, except for the yummy Chick-fi-la lunch. Maybe you had to go out a few more times.... for dinner or practices. But it sure is nice to stay inside where it's warm, today was rather cold!

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
