Having a roommate is a lot more than simply sharing a room with someone. They are a huge part of your life as they embark on the same crazy college adventure you are. They take on a bunch of different roles that they may have never been before, but boy is it worth it.
Mother
Your roommate is the one who reminds you to rest and eat soup when you are feeling sick. When your plans suck, your roommate is going to be the one that switches from ever-supportive-friend to honest mother. I mean someone has to tell you your plan is no good.
Partner in Crime
She can’t be the person you call if you end up in jail because she will most likely be the one sitting beside you in the cell. She is the she to your nanigans and late night adventures that some would consider irrational and foolish, and it wouldn’t be the same without her.
Therapist
Your roommate listens to your problems/worries/complaints and always has a solution. Whether she just lets you cry and let everything out or she encourages some semi healthy revenge, she is there to listen, analyze and ask you how you really feel.
Teacher
When school gets you down and overwhelmed she is the one to study with you late into the night. She encourages you with positive affirmation and maybe a harsh pep talk every now and then to boost your motivation.
Boyfriend
When you come home from a long day, it’s your roommate with a cup of hot chocolate, a favorite movie and a very fluffy blanket waiting for you on the couch. And she watches the chick flicks without complaining.
Stylist
She is going to be the one to tell you when your outfit goes from boho chic to just straight hobo. Listen to her.
Best Friend
All in all, a roommate has many roles and heaven knows we probably couldn’t get through college without them. But out of all of their roles, best friend is the greatest. She’s got your back through it all.
