We've all been there: you're bored or you're procrastinating and you decide to type in your favorite online store into your search bar. Whether it be clothes, makeup, shoes, etc. you can't help but pass time on your favorite sites. The only problem is, a lot of the times you never actually check out, because, well...you're broke. Here are the 6 stages of what online shopping looks like when you actually have no money to shop with.
1. Heading to the site out of boredom
Whether you are bored or you should really be typing that essay that's due by the end of the day, a lot of the time you find yourself on a site when you should probably be doing something a little more productive. But you just can't help yourself.
2. You see that a sale is going and immediately begin to take things seriously.
Omg 30% off the entire store, maybe I'll actually end up buying something. I should definitely take advantage of this opportunity, right?
3. You load up your cart with things you don't need.
Pretty soon your total is about $300 because you abused the "add to cart" button a little too much. Do I really need three sweaters? Two pairs of shoes? I don't need more leggings, right?
4. You start to narrow things down.
Eventually, you begin to come back to reality and realize you just can't afford $300 so you start taking some things off the list. Maybe, if you're lucky, you get your total down to under $100.
5. You realize shipping might be a deal-breaker.
Hmm...I get that I am spending a lot already, but is the $8 shipping really worth it? Do I need this stuff THAT much?
6. You end up abandoning your cart.
Eventually, after all that time spent "shopping," you end up just exiting out altogether because let's be real, you can't commit to anything. And since you live in the 21st century, ads of all the clothes you were just about to buy will haunt you in the shadows of various social media sites because the internet is trying to feed your addiction.
