The 6 Stages of a Hangover

In your twenties (at least 21, of course!), the weekends are a time for letting loose. Whether it’s a break from your academic life or work life, socializing with friends with a side of drinks is just what the doctor ordered. Although, there is the dreaded morning after…it’s truly inevitable. Here are the 6 stages of a hangover.

1. The Wake-Up

Goood morning, sunshine! Happy Saturday! How ya feelin’? Better check your purse for your wallet, keys, and dignity.

2. The Exit of Thee Bedroom

After some heavy contemplating, you figure that you should probably force yourself to make moves. Let’s start slow, perhaps by exiting the bedroom. Look at you go!

3. The Attempt of Home Remedies

Even though you are well-aware that some coffee, Gatorade, or greasy food will NOT make you feel good as new, you’re going to give it a go anyways.

4. Checking in with the troops

Alright, so it’s mid-afternoon now and you’re feeling slightly less crappy. You decide it would be a good idea to go check if your friends are alive. Of course you guys need to figure out what the heck happened last night.

5. Revival

After some heavy gossip, food, and laying on the couch for a few more hours with your girls you finally start to feel like yourself again. You have overcome a great obstacle in life. Bring it on world, you thought you knocked me down, but we back!

6. Back in Action

You and your girls are feeling

100% again and ready to take on local nightlife once more! Stay tuned tomorrow for the Sunday edition of your hangover when you are feeling just as crappy, if not10 times more. Enjoy!

Although hangovers feel like the end of the world, the memories you create in your twenties are irreplaceable. Remember, you’ll never be as young and alive as you are are right now. Take advantage of it. Stay fresh.

morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
