The 6 Emotional Steps of Changing Your Major

I just changed my major, and boy am I uncertain about the descision. As far as I can tell, there are six main emotional steps to it.

1. Curiosity

This major interests me! It might be a better fit for me.

2. Reconsideration

Wait, I already like my current major. Does it really matter?

3. Fear

Holy hippo! How will I ever decide what I want to do with my life?

4. Reconsideration

I'm not making any major descisions right now, I'm just deciding on a major. It's worthwhile to be in a progrem I enjoy.

5. I'm gonna do this, I'm so empowered

I'm talking to the department chair, I'm submitting an application, I'm planning my classes for next fall.

6. Reconsideration

.....And how is this affecting my graduation? Is it worth it to stay an extra year when I'm not sure what I want to do? Have I just got myself in a worse situation? How will I ever decide?
