Unfortunately, it's that time of the year again; WINTER. Although winter means holidays and cheer it comes with a lot more than just that. The air will get chillier, the nights darker, the roads will be slicker, AND sooner than later the ground will be covered in a white blanket of snow. One of the first steps in the right direction, as painful as it may be, is taking out your good ole' winter coat. Just like many stages or experiences in life there are stages and/or steps. Here are the five stages of taking your winter coat out:
1. Denial:
This stage can drag onnnn and onnnnn and onnnnn. You deny that the snow is really coming thinking, maybe it won't be here for a few more days.. Maybe a week.. Or two weeks! Either way you deny the duty away.
2. Anger:
This stage is pretty uneasy. You're angry that the first snow fall is near. You have to add at LEAST five minutes to your daily commute knowing that driving in the snow and ice is a lot trickier than right now. It's pretty upsetting.
3. Bargaining:
This stage is pretty unrealistic because how can you bargain the snow away. "Snow go to Florida instead." I don't think the clouds will listen. It's smarter to put your efforts somewhere else.
4. Depression:
This stage usually occurs when the snow hits the ground. Then you know the end of walking out of the house in your fall jacket or no jacket is done. The truth sinks in; fall is really over.
5. Acceptance:
This stage concludes them all. You accept that winter is here. Maybe you finally do before the snow hits or the day of... or a few days after. Either way the truth has finally hit.
