The 5 Songs That You And Your Squad Are Guaranteed To Listen To Before You Go Out
Just Jared

As the school year has already come in full swing, so has our social calendars. My friends and I look forward to the weekend a little more than most. And once Monday hits, each day turns into a countdown. We look forward to putting aside our priorities and responsibilities and being able to engage in the process of going out with the whole squad.

Before we head to a party, we find it absolutely necessary to have a fire playlist going to start off the night. Thus, here are 5 songs that you and your squad are guaranteed to listen to before you go out (trust me, I know.)

1.) Closer / The Chainsmokers

If this isn't the sorority-girl party anthem of the year, I don't know what is. Lets face it, whether you're in the car, getting ready, or at a party, you know that this will be requested over and over again until it has been played 48 times.

After releasing the song, The Chainsmokers tweeted "this is not a love song" along with another explanation tweet to clarify the underlying meaning. Whether you can relate to this or not (you probably can), we all know that this is currently the song of the year and we have yet to get sick of it.

2.) Broccoli / D.R.A.M. and Lil Yachty

After the first couple of seconds into the song, I promise you that everyone will get out of control and start screaming and cheering.

"Broccoli" was said to be an unlikely success, but it has now topped the charts due to its extreme popularity. Something about this song gets everyone hype, no matter the occasion. The energetic, witty rhymes and it's unique beat and flow are an incredible combination. Lets be real, we all probably know the lyrics by now to this perfect party song.

*Hey lil mama would you like to be my sunshine*

3.) Needed Me /5 Rihanna

*YOUUUUUUU NEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDED ME*

I cannot tell you how many times my friends and I (or just myself...) have screamed these lyrics at the top of our lungs. Rihanna gets it. She knows how to bring out the inner bad-girl-Ri-Ri inside of you.

Every time you listen to this song, you're unfortunately reminded about a certain someone that you may or may not be over. So while you and your squad (of most likely 10+ girls) are crowded in your apartment kitchen drinking together, expect that everyone will get into this song the second that you turn it on.

4.) Say It / Flume and Tove Lo

I think most of us can agree on the fact that anything by Flume is absolutely amazing and mesmerizing. "Say It," on the other hand, has definitely left a lasting impression on many girls. This collaborative song is yet another reminder of relationships and emotions (who would've ever guessed!) This unique melody is guaranteed to make us girls go crazy.

5.) Cold Water / Justin Bieber,Major Lazer, MØ

As for myself, I have saved best for last.

All of the songs above are by far my favorites, but Justin Bieber always overrules everyone else, in my opinion. The combination and collaboration of Justin Bieber, Major Lazer, and MØ was pure brilliance when creating this upbeat track. As always, Bieber is on top of his game. Cold Water is most definitely a squad favorite in everyones book.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
