The 5 Best Christmas Movies To Put You In The Spirit

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I love the snow. I love that my whole family is together. I love Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas dinner. I love breakfast Christmas morning. ( I love food if you couldn't guess.) I love giving presents. I love having a month off from school. But I really, really love Christmas movies. Here are my top five favorite Christmas movies to get you into the Christmas spirit!

1. Elf

Any Will Ferrell movie is hilarious, but add Christmas into the mix and you'll be smiling and laughing the entire time. It's hilarious and heart warming and I don't think you need much else in a movie. This movie makes me want to have a snowball fight, decorate the tree, and make gingerbread houses all at the same time.

2. The Polar Express

One of my favorite movies as a kid, still one of my favorites as a college student. This movie always gets me excited for Christmas and is truly a feel good movie that makes us all wish we could fall asleep still believing in Santa.

3. Home Alone (and Home Alone 2)

Probably not even kid's dream, but it's definitely every kid's dream to be in New York City around Christmas time at least once in their childhood. This movie definitely puts me in the Christmas spirit because of all the decorations alone. Nothing puts me in the Christmas spirit more than seeing houses covered with lights, just like in this movie.

4. A Charlie Brown Christmas

Another favorite from my childhood, which I watch every single year. Not only does this movie just make me wish it was always Christmas time - it just makes me happy.

5. A Christmas Story

I cannot think of this movie and not think of Christmas day. On TBS, the movie plays for 24 hours straight and it stays on for the full 24 hours in my house. Every Christmas that I can remember, we opened presents and looking up at the television which was on in the background and seeing some scene from the movie playing. I can actually quote a lot of lines, so every time I see this movie I just need it to be Christmas day already.

So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
