The 45th President Through The Eyes Of 16 Millennials

We have a voice, and we must use it.

It's no secret that there are many differing opinions when it comes to our newly elected president, Donald Trump. However, it seems that the large majority of the people who make up the younger generations have come to a general consensus on the matter. To prove this point from the perspective of said generation, I decided to run a bit of a casual experiment for this week's article. That is, I sent my friends, most of whom are either in their late years of high school or in college, the following question:

"If you had to describe your feelings on President Trump and the future of America in a few words, what would you say?"

Of course, I let them know why I was asking, and most of them were quite eager to participate. I waited patiently for their responses, and not so much to my surprise, most of them portrayed the same messages of fear, anger, and overall discontentment.

Here are the answers that turned up:

"I feel frightened about the future of America. He could be described as a vengeful, hateful bully, and as a young woman, I feel that he makes our country look foolish."

"I'm deathly afraid for the impact on future generations."

"Sad."

"Wrong!"

"Insensitive."

"I'm cautiously hoping for a surprise."

"He's an overachiever in a negative way. The future of America looks a little less bright, but if we band together and resist, real change can happen." "He's a power-hungry liar."

"He's determined and hard working."

"Petty, dangerous, and lying."

"Dishonest, ignorant, misogynistic/bigoted, egotistical, unqualified."

"I wish that he would keep America free and I hope that everyone feels safe. I don't really have feelings towards him but he's our president now and that's that."

"He's unfit to be President."

"Getting dizzy from rolling my eyes."

"I'm going to need some time to compact my feelings into just a few words."

"Cautious and critical."

"His actions, policies, and ideologies are unethical and damaging to the future of this country. He will do nothing but hinder our progress as a country. He will only use his power for his own gain, while denying us our proper rights."

Well, there you have it, folks. Although this is only a small sample of the opinions of the "next generation," this survey in itself has made it clear to see that the future is in the hands of some people who do not necessarily agree with what is currently going on in our government.

Personally, I believe that we as young people hold the power to do anything that we wish to achieve, but we cannot allow the current state of our nation to bring us down. We must continue to hold onto the hope that America will someday, by our standards, be "great again."

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

The holiday season is full of stress, debt, and forced conversation. While we rush through the month of December, it's important to take a step back and enjoy the moments before they're gone. Most families love to watch Christmas movies, but these beloved films provide more than entertainment. Here are 10 life lessons that I've learned from the holiday classics we watch every year.

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
