I don't have any idea what my husband will look like, and I don't pray that he will be tall, dark and handsome. I have four requests, and I pray that God will fulfill them in my future husband.

1. A strong relationship with God.

I don’t want my husband to not know God. It is so very important to me that God be in my life, and the man He chooses for me. I want us to be at church on Sunday’s, and it be a priority. I want him involved in the church, and enjoys every minute he spends there. When we fight, which we will, I want him to pray about it and come back ready to fix things because I’ll be praying about it too. I want us to always ask each other for forgiveness when we do something wrong.

2. Always a gentleman.

I am talking about good ol’ southern charm. I want my man to open and close the car door for me. I want him to put his hand on my knee instead of my thigh. I want him to grab my hand instead of my bottom. I want him to kiss my cheek instead of it always being my lips. A man who is always there to help me carry all the groceries in on the first trip. A man that will run around the car with the umbrella so I don’t get wet in the rain.

3. A giving heart.

I want a man that is willing to give his heart to me, and everyone else. A man who is willing to give his time, for whatever reason. A man that can work with kids and actually enjoy it because every child can use some extra love. Someone who is willing to give his free time to others. A man who does not have a problem canceling his plans to come help someone. A man willing to give up his Saturday of rest to help me work on making our home beautiful, whether it be planting flowers in the front yard or cleaning out the basement.

4. That you pray for me.

Pray for me everyday. I will be praying for you. I won’t pray that you become a different person, I’ll pray about your day and your family. I will pray for your troubles and praise God for the great things that happen to you.

I promise you, future husband, that I will do my best everyday to be the woman of your dreams. I come with flaws, but so will you. I promise you that I will make you laugh at least once a day, whether it be with terrible jokes or sarcastic comments. I promise to you that I will never stop trying to make you happy. I may not know you yet, but when we meet I will know that you’re my person.

Proverbs 31:10-12 King James Version (KJV):

"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life."

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
