I think the one thing we can all agree on is that 2016 was a pretty rough year for all of us. From all of the tragic world events to the wildest/worst election in history, at least 2016 provided us with some good music to listen to. I mean it was the least it could do. This is a completely biased list of the best songs of 2016, in no particular order of course.

1. "Work" -Rihanna ft. Drake

*Prays for them to get back together*

2. "Panda" -Desiigner

Can't understand a word he's saying. But the beat is fire

3. "One Dance" -Drake

Bae

4. "Closer" -The Chainsmokers ft. Halsey

Halsey makes this song

5. "Black Beatles" -Rae Sremmurd

*Does mannequin challenge*

6. "Broccoli" -D.R.A.M ft. Lil Yachty

Because we definitely needed a new euphemism for weed

7. "Cheap Thrills" -Sia

This song is great and the remix featured Sean Paul, so that's even greater

8. "Cake by the Ocean" -DNCE

Thankful we still have a Jonas brother to obsess about in 2016

9. "Formation" -Beyonce

Any song that makes Tomi Lahren mad is a great song

10. "Drug Dealers Anonymous" -Pusha T ft. Jay-Z

Jay Z used a soundbite from the Tomi Lauren video (mentioned above) that was aimed at him and then delivered one of his best feature verses in a while... #petty #genius

11. "tHat Part" -Schoolboy Q ft. Kanye West

Schoolboy making TDE proud

12. "Chill Bill" -Rob $tone

Using the whistle from Kill Bill as the beat was I C O N I C

13. "Starboy" -The Weeknd

14. "Million Reasons" -Lady Gaga

Slay queen

15. "Nights" -Frank Ocean

One good thing came out of 2016 and that was Frank finally dropping new music

I would never fight with you at Cheesecake, Drake

17. "Goosebumps" -Travis $cott ft. Kendrick Lamar

It's lit!

18. "44 Bars" -Logic

Extremely underrated song from an underrated album by an underrated artist, but a bop, nonetheless

19. "I Took a Pill in Ibiza" -Mike Posner

20. "Work From Home" -Fifth Harmony

This chorus will probably be stuck in my head until 2017

21. "Death of a Bachelor" -Panic! At the Disco

Swooning over Brendon Urie since 2007

22. "Untitled 07/ Levitate" -Kendrick Lamar

Levitate levitate levitate levitate

23. "Father Stretch My Hands Pt.1" -Kanye West

Wondering if Young Metro still trusts Kanye

24. "All The Way Up (Remix)" -Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Jay-Z, French Montana

So great to see Remy making a comeback

Another great song from another underrated rapper

I wanted to put the entire album on this list to be honest

28. "No Problem" -Chance the Rapper ft. Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz

2016 was a HUGE year for Chance

29. "Cranes in the Sky" -Solange

Solange blessing us with that Black Girl Magic

30. "We The People" -A Tribe Called Quest

Always great when hip-hop legends make a come back and this album came out during a time we needed it the most.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
