Last January, according to
all the major news networks in their yearly countdowns, the upcoming
presidential election was the most talked about topic of 2015. In recent trends,
it's bound to be the same for the year 2016 as well. Whether it's hearing more
about further investigations into Hillary Clinton's email scandal or about the
latest outrageous thing Donald Trump said or tweeted, it seems that we can
never seem to talk enough about who our future president will be. Almost any
news at all is about the presidential election, whether it's about the candidates
themselves or even about people’s reactions to them now will instantly become
the featured top story in tomorrow’s news. With social media around allowing us
to voice our opinions and thoughts so easily, politics now more than ever has become sensationalized. Everyone has something different to say about this
election and America sure does love to react. Since politics is a very serious
topic, I thought it would be fun break the seriousness up with humor, and what
better way to do it then with one of the most classic kid's show of all time.
Here is the 2016 election, explained by "SpongeBob SquarePants."
It all will start out like this...
Someone will bring up politics because it seems like an intelligent thing to talk about.
The conversation could start out being about Trump's plan on immigration...
...or perhaps what the Republicans think about Sanders' economic policies.
Or maybe it will be about Hillary Clinton's email scandal and how the media is reacting to it.
But whatever the topic is, there is always someone who disagrees. And that's when the back talk begins.
And soon an otherwise intelligent discussion can turn into an argument.
It’s too funny what kind of other topics get brought up in a political conversation nowadays.
Like whether or not a guy has the right to dress like this without criticism.
Or better yet what our candidate's hair looks like.
But hey, for every political debate there is always someone who is like this.
Or in the case of Donald Trump and his tweets, like this.
Politics nowadays anger as many people as they amuse, though.
But they definitely amuse us, because if they didn't the media wouldn't talk so much about them.
But people do have their reactions to what they hear the news say.
And boy, do they react!
And sometimes they will react in groups.
It’s funny too how each presidential candidate has protesters at their rallies, because being hated also comes with the job.
And most people will say that they hate all the nominees. Who wouldn't with all the dishonesty we hear from both sides?
And what they probably do with some of their campaign money.
Some nominees will even make plans that they can never promise...
...and almost every candidate will have a list of things they say they will fix.
And America waits. And as we wait...
The insanity continues and takes on many different forms.
Fear at what will happen, coupled with thoughts about fleeing the country.
Anger at why the American people are making the choices they are.
Sadness at where the country is going.
Eventually, some of us will have enough of it all.
And that's when we give up on humanity and its ways.
So, when it comes election time and some of us get to the polls, we'll feel this way about voting.
We can sometimes stop caring to make ourselves mentally prepare for it if this happens.
or this...
But, in reality, life still moves on.
And in a few years the cycle starts all over again...
