The 17 Quotes That Got Me Through 2017

While looking back the past whirlwind of a year, I realized that I can sum it all up in 17 quotes, sayings, and overused phrases. Some are Taylor Swift lyrics, some are memes, some of tv/movie quotes, some are mantras, and some are just random words that constantly came to mind. Together, however, they tell the story of the past twelve, crazy months.

1. When I started doubting myself: "She believed she could so she did"

2. When I started to feel tired and angry: "Choose to love"

3. When things would just not go my way: "Not to be dramatic, but.."

4. When I insisted that my opinion be heard no matter what: "Noah Fence but..."

5. When I would get my tests back with the correct answers filled in: "I promise you that I will learn from my mistakes" - Coldplay

6. When I cut my hair short and decided it was the perfect time for change: "The old [Carmen] can't come to the phone right now. Why? Because she's dead." - Taylor Swift

8. When I would find a comfortable seat at the library only to realize I left half of my supplies at home: "The show must go all over the place or whatever." - Glee

10. When I would repeat an outfit because my MWF classmates don't know my TR classmates: "Today is never too late to be brand new" - Taylor Swift

11. When I would be seconds away from a breakdown, but also in a public place so I have to keep it together: "It's fine, I'm fine."

13. When I realized my one passion and decided to dedicate my college career to it: "For the Kids..."

14. When I was tired of hearing Gucci Gang over and over again: "Do you have any Celine Dion?"

15. When it took me three hours to complete a one hour assignment because I would constantly take instagram breaks: "I spent the whole afternoon at Marston today"

16. When I would beg my friends to go on adventures or day trips or check out trendy spots: "I have the perfect caption"

17. When we would lose almost every football game this season: "Top Ten Public University thoooooo."
