Sadly, it is time for a new person to take on the role as The Doctor.
Before we jump into the 13th Doctor, let's reminisce all the revamped predecessors.
The 9th Doctor started out the beginning of the reboot, being played by Christopher Eccleston. Sadly, we did not really get to see much of his personality as the Doctor, since he was only around for one season.
The 10th Doctor was played by David Tennant, from 2005 - 2010. Personally, he was my absolute favorite doctor. Tennant was unbelievably witty and truly funny. What really tugged at my heartstrings was the relationship between The Doctor and Rose Tyler, but that's a conversation we'll save for a different day.
The 11th Doctor was played by the incredible Matt Smith from 2010 - 2013. Definitely the most charming of the bunch, and a solid second favorite for me.
The 12th Doctor is played by Peter Capaldi from 2013 until present day. Many people did not think he was a right fit, simply because he is older. Definitely a rougher version of the doctor than we are used to. I happen to quite adore him. This leads up to the next Doctor.
Jodie Whittaker has been chosen to play The 13th Doctor. At first, I was a little bit hesitant when I heard a woman was going to be taking on the role. I am so used to men portraying this character. That being said, I was absolutely thrilled when I heard Jodie was picked. I watched her in Broadchurch, and I think she is an incredible actress. I do not think any woman can play this part as perfectly as Jodie is going to. I am so excited, and completely looking forward to Jodie Whittaker bringing the 13th Doctor to life.
Doctor Who is an amazing show that I feel lucky to be able to watch. Do not judge a book by its cover. Give the show a chance, and I promise you will not be disappointed.
