Ah yes, college. Despite it being coined "the best four years of your life," there are moments where it can be arguably the scariest. While the idea of having to grow up and be on your own is mortifying in itself, those long-term fears are often overshadowed by smaller, acute moments of anxiety that make you feel like your world is about to spontaneously combust.
1. Dropping your toothbrush on the communal bathroom floor.
Deciding on a double major seems easy compared to deciding on whether you're going to put that grotesque instrument in your mouth again.
2. The moment when you're playing flip cup and your RA knocks on the door.
No one will hear us, they said. You'll be fine, they said.
3. Or when you accidentally leave the door completely open while pre-gaming.
Yeah, that was pretty stupid.
4. Suddenly realizing that you have an exam tomorrow and haven't studied at all.
Oh, goodie.
5. Swiping your card in the dining hall and discovering you've run out of meal plan money.
Your nightmares of living on ramen and saltines is finally becoming a reality.
6. When it's raining cats and dogs and you realize that you left your rain boots at home.
WHY!
7. Getting sexiled for the first time and having to sleep on a friend's floor like an abandoned puppy.
Cue ASPCA commercial.
8. Realizing you haven't done laundry in two weeks and have run out of clean underwear.
Commando it is.
9. Checking your grades at the end of the semester.
No really, I can't look.
10. Finding a chunk of hair plastered to the shower wall.
Yes, I love taking showers with hamsters made of hair.
11. When your professor says that they would like to speak with you after class.
Perhaps if I just walk away they won't even notice.
12. Finding out your roommate has contracted a horrible virus and you have nowhere to hide.
Don't touch me, breathe on me or even look at me.
13. Realizing the only exam you have is scheduled on the last day of finals.
NOOOOOOOOOOO.
