The Christmas season is upon us. The weather is getting cooler and days are getting shorter. What better to do than to spend the day watching Christmas movies? Below is the season's 12 movies of Christmas, both classics and notable favorites.
1. "Elf"
2. "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas"
Whether you like the 1966 classic film or the newer 2000 adaption, How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a Dr. Seuss classic.
3. "A Charlie Brown Christmas"
Not all Christmas trees have to be full, they just need "a little love." -Linus Van Pelt
4. "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"
You hear the songs about him throughout the season. This tv special tells the story of how Rudolph came to be.
5. "Santa Clause"
Scott Calvin gets more than he ever could have imagined in this Disney classic. The sequels are just as noteworthy.
6. "Frosty the Snowman"
Who else has ever wished for their snowman to come alive?
7. "A Christmas Story"
Getting your tongue stuck to a pole, dressing up as a bunny, owning a leg lamp, and shooting your eye out with an air rifle... What more could you ask for?
8. "Home Alone"
"Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal." -Home Alone
9. "The Polar Express"
My family's Christmas Eve classic. I still fall asleep on Christmas Eve wishing its my turn to take a ride on the Polar Express.
10. "Deck the Halls"
A Christmas comedy all the way. This movie is sure to brighten your day and remind you what the true meaning of Christmas is all about.
11. "A Christmas Carol"
The new Disney version is just as enjoyable as the classics. The Christmas season and ghostly visits help Ebenezer Scrooge break out of his cold, hard shell to cherish all life has to offer.
12. "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"
This movie never fails to make me laugh. Full of witty, crazy antics, Clark Griswold sets out to make this the best Christmas his family has ever had.
I will be sure to watch each of these movies at least once throughout this Christmas season. All I need is a snow day, some hot chocolate, lots of blankets and someone to watch them with.
