Many of us have made our way home for the holidays. For me, I travel from a
seemingly small college town to my metropolis hometown. The differences
between the two cities produce appreciation. I appreciate the smooth
driving conditions of good ole Tuscaloosa, but I appreciate the variety
of attractions and the people-watching outings that Atlanta offers.
Within all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, there is that
moment; that moment when you feel as though the world slows down and the
introspection of your thoughts are exposed. Your thoughts seem as if
they are being read aloud, but there is no worry about exposure because
of the pure cheerfulness behind them.
My cheerfulness is derived from family, friends, and the experiences I have learned from.
I had “that moment” while I was unloading the dishwasher three days before Christmas
when my sister started a LIVE video stream on Instagram. She cranked
some tunes and my entire family started dancing in the kitchen while
our friends commented of their jealousy of our family’s silly bond.
While dancing to “Juju On That Beat”, I caught myself being more aware
of my euphoric surroundings. I made sure I would remember this moment
forever. This moment of carefree love of family bondage. It was what
most people call “A Kodak Moment”.
The featured picture above is the place where this moment happened. I hope to have more moments like this in life. I challenge you to find more "Kodak Moments" in life.
