How these didn't set off red flags for the writers is beyond me.

The 4 Most Infuriating Inconsistencies That Make It Hard To Watch 'That 70's Show'

In This Article:

I have watched "That 70's Show" through multiple times over the past 10 years, and every time there are just those little inconsistencies that make me want to scream.

1. Red catches the gang smoking pot... twice.

In the season 7 finale, Red comes down to the basement to find the whole gang smoking pot, as usual, and his rage is even carried over into the season 8 premiere when he goes to find all their stashes and Kitty, rather than flushing them, decides to experiment. This would all be absolutely hilarious, if not for the fact that Red already caught them smoking in season two. It was the entire plot of two episodes in season 2 and 3!! His being so shocked and appalled to find them doing it again in season 7 makes no sense!

2. Eric gave Donna too much space... except he didn't!

In season 5, when Hyde isn't sure how to approach Jackie while she's distressed about her father, Eric and Donna offer advice based on how they dealt with each other after Donna's mother left in the previous season. It turns into a hilarious argument about how Donna needed Eric, but he was giving her "space", assuming it was what she wanted. He told her that if she needed him, she should've gone to him, and she argues that she couldn't find him. Hilarious, right? EXCEPT THEY WEREN'T EVEN TOGETHER WHEN HER MOTHER LEFT!! They had just broken up, and on top of that, Eric most certainly did not give Donna space. He came over to her house to drop off a casserole and they ended up having sex, twice. Later, when he went to confront her about it, they had a friendly, heartwarming moment where he helped her fold up her mother's clothes to try and be there for her. This was THE PREVIOUS SEASON, not like 4 years earlier. Come on, writers!!

3. What year is it??

The first few seasons don't do the worst job at keeping track of what year it is, though holiday specials do tend to throw the whole thing off balance. But it was 1979 for like three whole seasons, and it felt like the writers were just dragging that year on as long as possible to keep the show going. A whole year goes by between Christmas and New Year's Eve! Honestly, the way most shows handle "what year is it" frustrates me (like, y'all started high school in 2008 but didn't graduate until 2015??), but this show wasn't set in present day, so they could have had a much easier time writing the plots into a consistent timeline.

4. Just... all of season 8.

This one isn't so much an inconsistency as it is a LOT of sloppy writing. Randy's character exists solely to be a love interest for Donna, and not even a good or well-written one at that. While I'm not anti-Fez and Jackie, her relationship with Hyde was given a sloppily-written ending, and his storyline with Sam made absolutely no sense. The only good episodes were "Stone Cold Crazy" and the finale. I will die on that hill.

Did I miss any? Comment them below. Inconsistencies aside, this show was amazing and will live on forever in my heart.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
