It's the Tuesday before break: term papers are being submitted, projects are just about complete, you have your duffel bag packed and you are all set to go. Yes, that's right, Thanksgiving Break is so close you can almost taste it. It's almost as if you have nothing to worry about (that is if you don't forget to pack your trusty pair of sweatpants).
Then, boom.
That one question that you contemplate every Thanksgiving hits you. It's that same question you are faced with every year and somehow you are never prepared for it.
"What are you thankful for?"
You probably deliberate for a while and mull over several possibilities such as your family, house, health, and hey maybe even your rambunctious dog. While those are certainly plausible ideas, maybe you should try something a bit different this year.
Thanking yourself.
Now you might say that's a bit too forward, even a bit selfish. However, it's never too selfish to thank yourself. Because let's not lie to ourselves, 2018 was a hard year filled with high emotions and heavy workloads.
You deserve to give yourself some credit.
So this Thanksgiving, I challenge you to see your self-worth. If you can't do it at the dinner table, say it in the mirror. We all deserve to be proud of ourselves.
