So over the week I did a little research and looked into what other cultures/ countries Thanksgiving holidays look like.

1. Israel

Israeli Thanksgiving consists of something called the Jewish Harvest Festival. "Succoth" is the Jewish Thanksgiving that is celebrated for 7 days usually celebrated over the months of September and October. Family members, friends, and neighbors get together at the end of the Harvest Festival to celebrate, eat, and thank God for the great things in life.

2. Canada

The official Canadian Thanksgiving holiday is between late October and early November. The first Thanksgiving celebration in North America took place in Canada when Martin Frobisher, an English explorer, arrived in Newfoundland in 1578. So the first Canadian Thanksgiving was actually celebrated 4 years before the pilgrims landed in Plymouth.

3. Korea

Chuseok is the official Korean Thanksgiving Holiday, and also one of the most important festive holidays of the year. This holiday actually falls in September and is celebrated for 3 days. It is a time to celebrate with families, eat food, and give lots of presents!

4. Vietnam and China

Vietnam and China's Thanksgiving, The Moon Festival symbolizes giving of thanks and culture. Varies activities happen during this festival such as Rice harvest, worshiping the god of the earth, lanterns, dancing, and food.

5. United Kingdom

Every year the United Kingdom puts on a festival called "The London Festival". The London Festival is a celebration including hymns, gifts of fruits and vegetables, and food!

6. Ghana

The Honowo festival is celebrated by the people of Ghana that usually starts in the month of May before the rainy season. During this festival they perform a dance called Kpanlogo and celebrate in the remembrance of the famine that once happened in their history.

7. Germany

Thanksgiving is an autumn harvest celebration called Erntedank that usually takes place in September or October. During this festival there are many observances with church services, parades, music, and a fair-like atmosphere.

8. India

India's thanksgiving is a South Indian Harvest festival called "Pongal". It usually takes place around January and celebrates the changing of the seasons. It consists of 4 days of prayer, festivities, happiness, and family.

9. Barbados

Barbados celebrates a "Crop Over" festival that attracts visitors from across the globe. It is a popular and colourful festival that is celebrated at the sugar season. Festivities including folk concerts, photographic exhibits, shows, and parades are included in this festival!

And that's it! Thanks for reading. May your Thanksgiving season be great! Remember to always be inspiring.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
