Thanksgiving Week As Told By "The Office"

For most Thanksgiving is a time for family and reflection; for college students it is a time for last minute assignments and one last break before finals.

Around this time in the semester every college student is preparing to go home for Thanksgiving. A break from the semester is long overdue and its only 2 weekdays away, past the pile of work you have to do. Hopefully, this list will cheer you up while you're working for the (5-day) weekend.

1. The Sunday before

You should definitely be getting a head start on all that work you have to do... but one last night out with friends is just too tempting.

2. Realizing the number of things you have to do before you can go home

Somehow you have 5 classes, 2 days left, and 10 assignments due. it's basically impossible to decide which one is the most important, so just pick one and get started.

3. Trying to get this work done so you can just leave

When you realize that you actually have to write that paper. There is no time left for Facebook, only work, and you are not to be disturbed.

4. Finally going home for Thanksgiving

Nothing distracts you from the end-of-the-semester blues than a long weekend at home. It feels like you're running away and the truth is that you are, but that's ok.

5. When you get to see your hometown friends again

College friends are great but no one understands you like your high school besties. Swapping party stories and getting into some old school shenanigans is a must.

6. When your parents try to tell you to be healthy

When will they realize that the one true lesson you've learned in college is that you can eat ice cream whenever you want, and there's nothing they can do to stop you?

7. When you've starved yourself all day so you can feast at dinner.

Thanksgiving = no breakfast. Unfortunately, it also means you'll be pretty hangry by around 1pm.

8. After a nice post-dinner nap

Eating so many forms of potato at once would make anyone sleepy. Plus, sleeping in your own bed after a home cooked meal is better than the dorm any day.

9. When your parents see you for who you really are

It may be the first time they've seen you like this, but it won't be the last. The only real way to forget about the semester is to curl up in a blanket and eat some kind of bread. But maybe that's just me...

10. Getting back to campus Sunday night

Feeling super well rested and ready to take on the end of the semester... sort of.

11. When you realize there are only 2 weeks of class left.

So many assignments, so little time.

12. Deciding to crush the rest of the semester

Because nothing can get in the way of Christmas, even finals.

Let's all forget about the semester and embrace our inner Kevin Malone this Thursday. Happy Thanksgiving!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
