Thanksgiving As Told By Gossip Girl

Thanksgiving is almost here! To honor the holiday where stuffing your face is completely natural and universally accepted, I've traced the phases of Thanksgiving "feels" as told by Gossip Girl.

1. November 1st

The first of many nights spent dreaming about the food at Thanksgiving dinner and never wanting the dream to end.

2. The one week countdown

The day is almost here and you're double checking the menu to make sure your favorite dishes made the cut.

3. The morning of Thanksgiving

You're feeling great and ready to gain some weight.

4. Seeing all your relatives

You missed your family and they missed you; everyone is excited and lots of hugs are exchanged.

5. The questions begin

When you receive the first question about your future/ relationship status/ college.

6. The talkative relative sits next to you

That one relative that makes a point to talk to every family member for at least a half hour.

7. The 30 min dinner call

The anticipation is at an all time high as there is only 30 minutes until dinner is ready.

8. Dinner is ready

A.k.a you begin stuffing your face with food.

9. The food baby emerges

You prepared for this very moment and know that it is time to loosen your pants or loose a piece of clothing.

10. You regret how much food you ate

Your stomach hurts and you're seriously regretting that last plate of food.

11. Dessert comes

All regrets are gone and you're ready for more food #noregrats.

12. The food coma

You can no longer move and must live in your bed.

13. Family drama

Someone had a little too much pie and decided to talk about politics.

14. Goodbyes

It's time to leave. Thanksgiving is over and you're crying because you've missed your family and homemade meals.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
