For most people, Thanksgiving is a holiday that consists of eating a large meal with their family and close friends. It’s a time to relax and enjoy the company of your loved ones. However, for picky eaters, it can be a stressful time. Here are some Thanksgiving struggles that picky eaters can probably relate to.
1. Thanksgiving dinner is a time you secretly dread.
Many people have reasons for dreading Thanksgiving. Some people have to worry about cleaning their homes while hosting guests. For other people, Thanksgiving almost always leads to political arguments with family members. However, among the reasons for dreading Thanksgiving, many of them are almost all related to knowing you’re going to hate all the food.
2. You know your picky eating habits are going to cause problems.
You have to mentally prepare yourself for your family harassing you about your eating habits all day. It’s going to be a long day of everyone asking if that’s all you’re going to eat.
3. This is how your family members' plates look.
See how it’s full of food. This is how a normal person eats on Thanksgiving.
4. This is probably how your plate looks.
It probably just has rolls and a side or two on it.5. Maybe you hate turkey.
Let’s be honest, it’s not that great. It’s average at best.
6. Maybe you think green bean casserole is an abomination.
It just looks gross. It’s hard to see the appeal of slimy green beans.
7. Most likely, there’s going to be more food that you hate than food you actually like.
You may hate turkey, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, stuffing, and sweet potato casserole, but at least you’ll have dinner rolls.
8. Your family has probably spent a lot of time trying to convince you to eat more.
It doesn’t matter how many times they ask you to try something new. You already know you’ll hate it.
9. You’d rather stick to dinner rolls and mashed potatoes.
Your plate is essentially a collection of only carbs, but this doesn’t bother you. You’re content with your life choices.
10. In the end, it’s all worth it though, because you get to spend the day surrounded by your friends and family.
All the awkwardness of your family trying to force you to expand your food preferences is worth it if it means you get to spend the day with them.
