Happy November everyone! What a fabulous Halloween I'm sure we all had, and now that Halloween is actually over, we can move ahead to the Christmas season! Yay!

Wrong.

How about we all take a tiny second to remember that Christmas is in fact not until December 25th. It's the same day every year people, it's not that hard to remember.

And yes, I get that it's somehow more difficult to remember when Thanksgiving is (though not really how hard is it to remember the 4th Thursday), but you should remember it regardless.

This year Thanksgiving is on the 24th, so mark it on your calendars-- except it's already there, funny how that works. As it works out, that's actually a whole entire month before Christmas! Wow!

Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas. It's my favorite holiday. I love the Christmas season, and all the other holidays that fall in that time period and theme. I love everything about it.

But it's about time people start remembering that Thanksgiving is a holiday too.

I get that everyone wants to do their holiday shopping, I get that people like to make Christmas cookies, I get that you like Christmas music (so do I), and I get that stores make a huge profit off of selling anything Christmas related.

But Thanksgiving is an important holiday to do exactly what it says in its name: give thanks. Be thankful for what you have, spend some time with your family and loved ones.

And for that matter, please for the love of God someone delete Black Friday. I don't understand how anyone could just give up spending time with people they love and taking time away from the people who have to work that day just so they can go and trample each other to get a discount on some thoughtless gift. I just do not understand.

My Christmas wish this year is that everyone stop jumping straight from Halloween into Christmas, since they are two months apart and there is in fact a full holiday in there that some people actually consider important.

Christmas is not in November. Christmas does not start on midnight of November 1st. The Christmas holiday does not last the span of two full months. November 25th, go ahead. Put up the tree. Wear your ugly sweater. Go wild.

But only after Thanksgiving has ended.

So please, remember this year and from now on that Thanksgiving is still a holiday, and you should be spending time with loved ones and counting your blessings. Christmas isn't for a good long time, I promise you'll have plenty of time to prepare after you finish your Thanksgiving celebration.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
