Thanksgiving is just around the corner. In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's important to slow down and remember all that we have. Remember the little things, and the big things, that we have to be thankful for. So today, I am grateful.
I'm grateful for my family. I may not see them often enough, but I know at the end of the day they will always be there. I know that they are always there to support me, to cheer me on, and at times help me pick up the pieces.
I'm grateful for my amazing friends. The ones that have stuck by my side even though I haven't been around nearly as much as I'd like. The ones that understand that life happens, but know that I'm still only a phone call or text away. The ones that have seen me through some of my darkest nights and celebrated with me on my brightest days.
I'm grateful for my job. My job provides me with enough to support myself. It's given me room to grow, with them and because of them. My job has introduced me to so very many people from all walks of life. It's given me a chance to discover new music. And so many new experiences. None of this would I trade for the world.
I am grateful for my amazing coworkers. Work isn't always fun. There are times that it's ridiculous and stressful and just plain sucks. We still find ways to laugh. We always find ways to laugh.
I'm grateful for the mild year we've had so far. Thank you, Mother Nature.
I'm grateful for our two cats. They are loving and hilarious and total brats sometimes but I'd be lost without them, though.
I am grateful for music.
I'm grateful for my health. I may fight with it sometimes, but I am still able to live a full life.
I am grateful to have a roof over my head. Many don't.
I am grateful for all the little things in life. For the texts that make me smile out of blue. For the sunshine on chilly days. For having food and a warm bed.
I'm grateful. I am grateful today. I will still be grateful days and weeks from now. Even if I don't always show it, even on the days that suck. There are so many little things we can appreciate, we just need to look.
So this Thanksgiving what are you thankful for? What is it that makes your heart smile?
