Around Thanksgiving, you go back home and see all of your family you really haven't seen since the summer. I mean sure, you come back to your hometown every now and then, for just a weekend, but this time you're with your whole family. Your brothers, sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, dogs, everyone will be there. Spending time with family can be sometimes relaxing or awkward, considering you never see them, so here to explain this mixture of emotions is the cast of hit TV show "Friends."
You'll get asked if you're currently dating anyone. You tell them you're just too busy with school and work to focus on that sort of thing. But really....
Or my personal favorite, "what are your plans after graduation?"
Accidentally getting drunk in front of your family for the first time, because apparently your family believes in endless Margaritas and then seeing your family drunk for the first time.
You get to get an earful from that one family member that has a political opinion on just about anything and you have to sit there, nod your head, and smile. Or just nod off.
Fighting with your siblings like you did when you were seven, like nothing has changed
The texts you send your friends because you're 100 percent done with your family
The day of thanksgiving is immense torture the moment you wake up. The smell the cooking in the kitchen is intoxicating and the torture doesn't stop up until you get to eat dinner (which you've been starving yourself all day for) and everything looks SO GOOD.
Then getting in trouble for sneaking slices of food before it's dinner time.
Getting so cranky because you're so hungry you say things you don't mean
But when it's time to eat....
...and some one asks to pass the plate of turkey.
You know you've reached your limit but you find yourself still putting food in your mouth.
Then the intense food coma you slip into and the pre-black Friday nap you take before you scrimmage for the best black Friday deals.
But being surrounded by people who love you the most is one of the greatest feelings in the world. Take advantage of this time with family, time with these people are so rare.
