We have all waited for this break. Fall break was a teaser for Thanksgiving Break, and while fall break was great, Thanksgiving Break is going to be amazing. College has been fun, and the semester is coming to a close. Soon we will be stuck at home for five whole weeks, and we may or may not survive the reunion with the craziness of our family. As much as we would all love to re-experience the infamous LDOC (last day of classes), we are really just so excited for Thanksgiving Break and trying to get through the last few days before we head back and get a few days in that place called home. So what exactly makes Thanksgiving Break so great?

1. The Food

By the end of the semester, your friends have to practically drag you out of your dorm to the dining hall to use the last of your meal plan. Thanksgiving Break is the best time to stuff yourself (literally) with all the best food your family cooks for this wonderful holiday called Thanksgiving.

2. Reuniting With Your Pets

Thanksgiving Break is the perfect time to stop spending hours watching the best dog videos on YouTube and instead spend hours with your pets at home. Can’t come up with something to be thankful for? First of all, check yourself -- there is always something to be thankful for. Secondly, be thankful for your beloved pets!

3. Driving

I am so happy I don’t have to drive on campus. Finding parking spots, having people jump in front of your car -- not something I miss. But by the time we get home for Thanksgiving, we are so ready to get in our own car and drive, even if it is just to Starbucks.

4. Your Room

There really is something to be said about sleeping in your own room. It is an amazing feeling, and you really don’t know what you’ve been missing until you go home.

5. A Break From Colleging And Adulting

Whatever age you are, colleging and adulting is hard stuff. Sometimes we just need a break. Thanksgiving break is the best time to take a break and not college for a few days.

6. Having Your Laundry Done For You

If you are lucky, maybe your parents will be wonderful and do your laundry for you over Thanksgiving break. Even if they don’t, you’ll have better washers and dryers to do your laundry.

7. Hometown Friends

It’s always nice to see friends from home, but it doesn't always work with different break timings. So when Thanksgiving break comes around, maybe, just maybe, schedules will line up and old friendships will be reunited.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
