Netflix Shows With Thanksgiving Specials

It's Thanksgiving, and that means it's time to cuddle up in your post-dinner coma and watch your favorite Thanksgiving episodes on TV. Maybe you love your family or maybe they drive you a bit crazy. Go ahead and escape for awhile and celebrate with someone else's family and friends. Here are some of the best shows with Thanksgiving episodes to watch, in no particular order:

New Girl

With four Thanksgiving episodes, New Girl offers plenty of festive options! There's a parent trap, a camping trip, and "Bangs-giving." Isn't it how we all imagine Thanksgiving as adults?

Season 1, Episode 6; Season 2, Episode 8; Season 3, Episode 10; Season 4, Episode 9.

Friends

Yet another escape from our own families into the ideal Thanksgiving as adults. Remember when Joey got his head stuck in a turkey? I sure do. Or when Underdog got away? Or the multiple kinds of potatoes? With an episode in every season, you'll have your fill of Friends Thanksgiving festivities.

Season 1, Episode 9; Season 2, Episode 8; Season 3, Episode 9; Season 4, Episode 8; Season 5, Episode 8; Season 6, Episode 9; Season 7, Episode 8; Season 8, Episode 8; Season 9, Episode 8; Season 10, Episode 8.

Gossip Girl

When I think "Thanksgiving episodes," I think Gossip Girl. The Big Apple is my ideal Thanksgiving setting. A chill in the air, leaves falling in Central Park, and lots and lots of drama.

Season 1, Episode 9; Season 2, Episode 11; Season 3, Episode 11; Season 4, Episode 10; Season 6, Episode 8.

Grey's Anatomy

I'll have to argue that the Grey's Thanksgiving episode is one of the best episodes in the early seasons. Rarely do we get to see the doctors in their normal lives, celebrating normal holidays (not that they don't set foot in the hospital despite it).

Season 2, Episode 9.

How I Met Your Mother

HIMYM Thanksgiving episodes mainly consist of Slapsgiving. Who doesn't love a good Slapsgiving? I'm also beginning to see an adult/friend theme here? Maybe they've figured out that Thanksgiving with friends is much better than drama with family? We'll have to try that...

Season 1, Episode 9; Season 3, Episode 9; Season 5, Episode 9; Season 6, Episode 10; Season 9, Episode 14.

Gilmore Girls

Isn't Stars Hollow the epitome of fall? What a perfect place to spend Thanksgiving. The Gilmore Girls never disappoint us. And what a perfect way to prepare for watching the revival!

Epsiode 3, Episode 9; Season 6, Episode 10.

Happy Thanksgiving and happy watching!

Christmas tree
Librarian Lavender

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
